Neuropsychological Testing

NCCF has obtained the services of Dr. Lewis M. Etcoff, who is the only board certified neuropsychologist in Nevada, to identify cognitive and affective deficits caused by disease and/or treatment. Dr. Etcoff’s specialized testing is concerned with learning and behavior and their association with your child’s brain structure and systems.

A neuropsychological evaluation assesses the following areas:

The data collected is used to target specific brain dysfunction and build appropriate accommodations and modifications to the curriculum and school environment that meet your child’s needs and heighten their adaptability and success. Often, the results are shared with school personnel and used to initiate or add accommodations and goals through either a 504 plan or IEP. The results offer parents and teachers valuable insight into the child’s educational needs and how these needs may best be met by school staff. Additionally, testing provides a better understanding of your child’s behavior and learning at home and in the community.
